    ok, so i just fixed my PC after it died (corrupted HD, dvd drives, motherboard) and got it all running again good...

    just gone tits up with sound! worked fine before when ive been editing things, but for some reason, the sound just doesnt wanna work on any editing programs yet when i use windows media player for songs, etc it works...
    anyone got any ideas why?

    Ok its working for Adobe Premier now, but it doesnt work on Sony Vegas

    (i use both)

    any ideas why?

    Do you have both programs running at the same time? I don't use Adobe, but I know sometimes with my AVID if I have two programs runnin that uses my sound card it just doesn't work. Just an idea..... [img]eek.gif[/img]

    Just a guess, but if you're using whatever generic drivers Windows installs for your soundcard, you might be better to get your soundcards CD or jump online to their website and get the latest specific drivers.

    i've had a look for drivers - cant find nething new or no probs or wot eva...
    and i only have 1 program running.

    its just wierd how it suddenly stopped working :S

    Try updating to DirectX 9.1c or whatever the latest version is.

    Also, for diagnostics:
    Start---&gt;Run and type 'dxdiag' [return]
    Check out the audio tab ...
